Got a new Wabi Classic recently. It's a mostly stock build plus a few of their upgrades: wheels (Wabi CX-Urban), tires (Panaracer GravelKing SK 700x32), and bar tape (Wabi leather). The rest of the build features a 47x18 gear ratio (3/32" chain), 120mm stem with Wabi compact bar, and a Wabi narrow race saddle with a 250mm seatpost.

Chased Down a Creak
Some time last year my bike started creaking whenever I would climb out of the saddle. A few weeks before moving to Colorado I finally decided to do something about it. I figured it was the bottom bracket, since it had over 5,000 miles on it, so I installed a new one. That wasn't it. Still creaking. Oh well, it didn't bother me that much. Until I started riding in Colorado, and every ride I do has multiple climbs out of the saddle. So last week I decided to make an effort figuring out what was causing it. I cleaned and greased the chainring bolts. That wasn't it. I cleaned and greased the pedal threads. That wasn't it. I cleaned and greased the seatpost. That wasn't it. I cleaned and greased the headset cups. That wasn't it. I cleaned and greased the stem faceplate bolts. That was it. Silence.

More Snow
It'd be cool if a week could by without getting some snow. This is how it looked Friday afternoon, and there was more Saturday morning. Other than the days it has snowed, though, the weather has still been pretty nice.

Snow
Colorado has been great so far, but the last two Saturdays we got a good amount of snow. I've still been able to ride plenty since it gets plowed quickly, but the majority of it has been on pavement.

First Ride from Broomfield, CO
We just moved from Columbia, MO to Broomfield, CO last Thursday. Seeing some cold and wet weather on the forecast for the weekend we decided to take a break from unpacking on Friday to go for a short ride. We ended up on the US 36 Bikeway heading toward Boulder. We stopped at the scenic overlook of Boulder for a few minutes and decided to head back.
I'm glad we turned around when we did, because it got dark quick, and we didn't have lights with us. I'm really looking forward to getting back out this week.

First Proper Ride on the New Wheels
Lately, the weather here has been less than ideal for riding, but on Saturday it was nice enough to get out for a while. To finish off the new wheels I mounted an old set of Kenda Booster Pro 700x40s (with inner tubes), and then installed a Euro Asia Imports 18t cog and lockring on the rear hub. I'm happy with how it all came together. My Jedan *might* be set for a while.

New Wheelset
I recently built up a new set of wheels that I've had in the works for a while: Raketa RAW hubs laced to Whisky No.9 30d rims with DT Swiss Aero Comp spokes and Pro Lock brass nipples. The finished set weighed in at 1550 grams, which I'm pretty happy about considering these aren't the lightest hubs (nor are they trying to be).

Surly + Raleigh = Surleigh?
OG Steamroller frame with a Raleigh Technium Tri-Lite fork. The old chrome fork I was running before this one worked fine, but I prefer the shorter axle-to-crown on this one. Also, it's still just wide enough to work with these tires.
